Carrie Underwood is a big winner at the American Country Awards 2011 held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Monday (Last Night) in Las Vegas.
Carrie Underwood won for Female Artist of the Year and for Music Video and Single of the Year by a Female Artist for “Mama’s Song.” You Rock Carrie!
Also the big winner of the night was Jason Aldean, who won for Music Video of the Year, which he worked on with Kelly Clarkson, for “Don’t You Wanna Stay.”

Miley Cyrus to Host CMT Awards
Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray are set to host the 2008 CMT Music Awards to be held on April 14 from Belmont University’s Curb Event Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Scheduled to perform on the awards night are Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Sugarland and Toby Keith. What – no ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ from Billy Ray?! Oh well, I’m sure Miley will find something for him to do as she whores it up in front of the cameras.
In other Miley news, Disney also announced that the ‘Hannah Montana’ movie will shoot in Tennessee and Los Angeles with a scheduled release date of May 1, 2009.
Carrie Underwood Sings the Gospel
Carrie Underwood sings the title track ‘How Great Thou Art’ off of the album ‘How Great Thou Art: Gospel Favorites from the Grand Ole Opry’. The American Idol champ joins legions of country music’s finest on the album which also features the likes of Trace Adkins, Dierks Bentley, The Charlie Daniels Band with Mac Powell, Sara Evans, Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Patty Loveless, Loretta Lynn, Ronnie Milsap, Brad Paisley and Ricky Skaggs and the Whites. The album is available in stores now so don’t forget to get your hands on it. Carrie has truly made a name for herself in the industry by being asked to work with such fine talent.
Chris Daughtry is Billboard’s Top Seller
Idol fans, this is your time for sweet revenge. He may not have won the competition, but he won the hearts of album buyers this year. Billboard named Chris Daughtry the most popular album of 2007. They sold about 3.2 million copies.
Just half a million shy of that, in second place, is Akon’s album “Konvicted”, followed by the Hannah Montana soundtrack (2.5 million), Fergie’s “The Dutchess” (2.4 million), and Carrie Underwood’s “Some Hearts” (2.3 million).
Number one song of the year was “Irreplaceable” by Beyonce, with Rihanna coming in just behind with “Umbrella”. Top tour of the year was The Police’s reunion tour, bringing in $212 million at last estimate.
